Cattail food cooking up

Forager-curious attention, cattail food cooking up! Welcome to a free of charge wetland plant cooking show and tasting hosted by LUKE Natural Resources Institute Finland.

Come see forager chefs Edith Keto, Janne Länsipuro, and Jyrki Tsutsunen create beautiful dishes from wetland plants at a cozy evening show. The chefs will cook snacks from lovely plants including cloudberry, cranberry and angelica, and will playfully compete with creating a cattail (Typha) dish.

The event is free, and is complemented with live music played by Duo Lux: Sandy Ahjo (flute) and Marja Nevankallio (kantele).

Organized by Climatically sustainable use of peatlands – farmer’s view (TURINA)-project, which is coordinated by Natural Resources Institute Finland and funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland. Fluff Stuff helped co-ideate the event. The cooking night is a side program of the Baltic Sea Action Group’s “4 per 1000” Nordic soil carbon sequestration event.
